Used Motorcycle Trailers for Hauling Your Bikes

I just bought a new place out in the country and am excited about moving my family there. Although I'm now faced with a longer commute to and from work, I think the move will be worth it. We're going to be in a very nice, safe area with good schools and lots of space for the kids to play. Our previous house undoubtedly had a better location, but that was about the only positive aspect of living in the city. I have a feeling that our lives will be much different from now on.

One interesting thing about the new property is that it has a small motocross track built out back. I rode dirt bikes when I was younger, but had to give them up when I went to college. Now I'll definitely be purchasing a couple of motorcycles for myself and the kids to try to get them interested in riding. I'm already looking for those, and have been checking out used motorcycle trailers as well so we can haul our bikes when we're ready for a bigger track.

Since we have our own course in the backyard, I can take my time in searching through the eBay listings for used motorcycle trailers to make sure I get a great deal on whatever I end up buying. There's no hurry to get set up with a trailer, because I doubt that the boys will be ready for any track other than our own for at least six months (probably more). We won't have to worry about moving the bikes anywhere, so I can research used motorcycle trailers thoroughly to figure out which ones represent the best bargains and retain their trade value the longest.

And who knows, maybe the boys will turn out to be naturals on their bikes. If that happens, we might start taking motocross a bit more seriously, traveling to bigger, better, and more challenging tracks for practice and races. If that turns out to be the case, our next purchase might have to be a motorhome instead of another one of those used motorcycle trailers. I know that motorhomes are popular with motocross families because racetracks are usually located well off the beaten path, far away from quality lodgings. Having a motorhome with a kitchenette, shower, sleeping quarters, plus room for the bikes would be much more convenient than those bare-bones used motorcycle trailers that don't come with any amenities.

Anyway, I know I'm getting way ahead of myself here. My boys haven't even thrown a leg over a bike yet, and I'm already imagining them becoming the next amateur champions! For now, I'll just continue looking at bikes and used motorcycle trailers until I come across something reasonable, and then take things from there. I can't wait for this opportunity to bond with my sons in a whole new way!
