I work at the local community center, where I run an arts and crafts activity class after school. If it were not for craft supply wholesalers, we would not be able to afford it. You see, the community center is in a pretty low income area, and the kids all come from families without a lot of money. By buying from craft supplies wholesalers, we are able to really cut the cost of holding the class. Stuff that would cost a lot of money at a craft supply store can be had for next to nothing if you are willing to buy enough of it.

What I did not realize was that there were craft wholesalers working the other end of the industry. You see, in addition to enjoying making crafts, I also love to buy them. I have been one of the local craft fairs biggest fans for as long as I can remember. I thought that the stuff that I was buying there was unique, but when I saw the same crafts for sale across town for even less money, I began to wonder. Maybe this stuff was not local made after all. Maybe it was all coming from craft wholesalers.

I started looking at a lot of craft wholesaler sites online. It is amazing how many different companies make, export, import, and distribute wholesale crafts. By the time that it gets to the consumer, a wooden craft that cost only pennies to make in Guatemala can be sold for anywhere between 10 and 100 dollars! With all of the middle-men in the business, it is no wonder that there are such big markups!

If you know the right craft wholesalers, however, you can sometimes find the same crafts on sale for a much more reasonable price. Of course, a lot of these craft wholesalers demand that you buy in bulk, but not all of them do. I have a friend at the community center who owns her own craft store. She tells me that she can often get great craft discounts when she buys as few as five items at a time. There are even drop ship wholesalers who specialize in crafts, but will sell you individual units. Don't assume that the best bargains are always at the craft fair. Sometimes, craft wholesalers will offer you a much better deal – that is, if you can find them.
