Pets In Your Home Country when you move oversea
Every pet owner will acknowledge that a pet is a wonderful companion and actually a member of the family. You may feel that you want to take your pet with you for a long-term job in your new country. Think very carefully about that! Can your pet cope with the new climate (heat, or cold, and humidity)? What would you do with the pet when you are on home leave? How would the pet cope with a long period in quarantine? Some countries hold the pet for weeks or months to make sure the pet is disease free. Is there a friend or a family member who would love to have another pet? Or is your pet old enough or feeble enough to consider ending his pain or confusion? I may sound harsh but there are very hard and heart-wrenching decisions you have to make. In the end the choice is to take your pet with you or to leave him behind. If you decide to include your pet in your new adventure, make sure that you find out what paperwork would be required to take your pet to the new country. If you just turn up with your pet, and try to board the plane, you will be turned away. You need to have the correct paperwork for your pet before you can leave or enter a country. Please ensure that your pet is correctly and properly identified in both your language and the local language of the country where you are going. That may take extra time and effort but it is worthwhile making sure you get your pet back.
